My Hero

My hero
Was beaten
Beaten for opening up his heart
For speaking the truth

People ran from him
They hid from him
And
Abandoned him

My hero
Died upon the cross
It was horrific
He did not abandon me

He returned
With His spirit, in me, in all
My hero, lived and died
And God raised him up

My hero is Jesus
